Rabbit pose really releases my upper back, where I tend to hold most of my tension. It is also very grounding as you bring your head to the earth. I always think of an ostrich sticking it’s head in the ground when I do this pose. See my daughter in the background trying to imitate me? If a toddler can do it, so can you! This is a very approachable pose…perhaps the biggest obstacle is tightness in the back. Warm yourself up first with some cat/cow, child’s pose, and neck circles.
Tip: This is a very calming, introspective pose. Close your eyes and focus on the sensation of your breath expanding in the back of your body. You might notice the exhale comes more easily with such deep flexion in the spine.
