Yes, you too can throw down your mat and do some poses without cleaning up the clutter around the house first. Sometimes it’s the only way to get a few free moments. I’ll be honest with you: I squeezed this photo into my day while I was cooking dinner, so I didn’t warm up at all for it (hence, the not the most lovely, vertical shoulderstand I’ve ever done…plus I don’t suggest you do it without warming up. Be nice to your body:)
Shoulderstand is a pose like no other. If your back is really tight, it can feel like torture in which case I’d say you can do it at the wall. On days when I’m tired or don’t have much warm up time, bridge pose gives me some of the same satisfaction.
Tip: I’m a fan of using a folded blanket or two under the shoulders. It makes things much easier on the neck and back.
